The 688 Club opened in May 1980 and closed in November 1986. Some Gen X punk rock losers may remember some of the awesome post-punk and college radio bands of the time. Memorable shows (That The Robot atteneded) include Let's Active, Hunters and Collectors, Violent Femmes, The Swimming Pool Q', Sonic Youth, Robyn Hitchcock, R.E.M., Pylon, The Ramones, Lyres, Hoodoo Gurus. Its a pretty huge list.
